Set two decades before the events of Song of Youth, this is the tale of a young man destined for greatness—Baili Dongjun, the future strongest in the world. Born into privilege as the only grandson of the Marquis of Zhenxi, his lineage was legendary: a father with unparalleled martial prowess and a mother from the esteemed Wen family. Yet, unlike his ancestors, Baili Dongjun had little interest in swordplay. His true passion? Brewing the perfect wine.
After a decade of mastering the craft, he finally created a brew like no other. But instead of basking in family pride, he did the unthinkable—stole a land deed, fled home, and traveled hundreds of miles to Chaisang City, determined to open his own wine shop. However, Chaisang was no peaceful retreat. The streets teemed with trouble, and while the city’s power-hungry forces played their dangerous games, Baili Dongjun was just a boy chasing his dream, blissfully unaware that fate had other plans.
A chance encounter soon changed everything. He crossed paths with Sikong Changfeng, a rootless wanderer with no past to call his own, and Lei Mengsha, a master of the burning ink arts from Tianqi City. In an unexpected twist, Baili found himself indebted to Lei Mengsha and, in an act of gratitude, joined his mission—to rescue his sworn brother, Gu Jianmen, a trapped master of Lingyun.
This was an era brimming with young talent, a golden age where legends were still unsung. Among them were names that would one day shake the world—Xie Xuan, the future Confucian Sword Immortal; Yan Zhantian, who would become the Angry Sword Immortal; and Luo Qingyang, the Solitary Sword Immortal. For now, they were just unknown warriors, waiting for the moment their paths would cross and their names would echo across history.
