Long ago, a master tomb builder named Luo Wuzi worked alongside Li Si to construct the grand Mausoleum of Qin Shihuang. Honored with the title of Tomb King, Luo Wuzi became a figure of legend, leaving behind a legacy of wealth and secrecy. His descendants became prominent in the royal court—nobles and artists who dedicated themselves to building extraordinary tombs, safeguarding them with loyal stewards across generations. The finest of these tombs were nine immense structures, each unbroken and untouched for a thousand years. Their grandeur and unbreachable nature earned them the title of the “Tombs of the Tomb Kings,” making their fame, and wealth, reach far and wide.

After Luo Wuzi’s passing, he entrusted his life’s work not to his own bloodline but to his most skilled disciple, Murong Xiu, naming him the new Tomb King. This decision sparked tension within the Luo family, who believed that their rightful legacy had been given away. Seeking justice, they petitioned the emperor, leading to an agreement: should anyone solve the mysteries of these nine unparalleled tombs, they would claim the title of Tomb King. Thus, the Luo family parted ways, founding their own faction, the Tomb Attack School.

From then on, the Tomb King School and the Tomb Attack School became two powerful forces, locked in an endless rivalry over tombs filled with treasures, secrets, and ancestral pride. Their feud became legend—one school defending its ancestral honor, the other tirelessly working to prove itself worthy of the Tomb King title.

Over centuries, this conflict drew new players into the fray. Bandits, seduced by the wealth of the ancient tombs, became masters of stealth and deception, crafting a dark art of tomb raiding. Meanwhile, court officials, keenly aware of the tombs’ hidden power and treasures, sought control of the Tomb King’s title, hoping to extend their influence over this mysterious world. These four forces—attackers, defenders, thieves, and officials—created a treacherous and thrilling landscape, where each faction vied to outwit and outmaneuver the others. In this world of tomb factions, alliances were brittle, and loyalty was rare, as ambition, greed, and tradition turned each tomb into a stage for cunning and courage.
